What is your beater watch?
When you have to do something physical or get dirty what is the watch you wear, my go to watch is a Tag Heuer Formula One. Had it for years and it has been through hell and back and is still in great shape.

It would be a toss up between my Submariner Date 16610 or Explorer II 16570. Have been wearing the 16570 more frequently for outdoor activities, chores, etc. A great tool watch.

To be honest I hate to refer to any watch as a "beater". Many can't afford some of the luxury brands so common on various forums. To them a 400 dollar watch is big.
To answer your question though I favor G-shock for things like that. I'll move this to the non-Rolex forum as it's not Rolex specific. |

At the moment it's a Citizen Promaster Ti for me. But that always changes. I like flipping too much to keep even my more affordable watches for long.

I have a couple of Luminox watches that are my beaters. Prior to that, my Sub C was my "beater."

This one is waterproof to 18000' - antimagnetic - shock proof to 100G's and never needs servicing. Perpetual celestial motion...
Never needs a battery, nor time on a winder - it will not rust, bust or run down the hill backwards...

I use my marathon GSAR for dirty work most days but sometimes I just have to wear my 6298 to give it some wrist time as almost everyday is filled with dirty work for me. Sent from my C771 using Tapatalk 2 |

Lately, it has been a Sub 14060, but for years it was my father's 1959-ish tt TOG. I've now got about a dozen regular-wear watches, and I favor chronographs, but I have surprisingly few watches for slightly rough use.
For me, a beater has to take a little accidental abuse, handle swimming, be serviceable for a reasonable cost and have service readily available in case of a problem. I live in a big town, but service for anything other than Rolex is still tricky. I don't mind battle scars on my watches, but if I have to send the watch out of state or country for basic service, I'm reluctant to treat it like the Sub. |

I just wear my gmt2c. I am part of the life's to short not to wear your Rolex crowd. Plus they take a beating so well.
