DeepSea bracelet into an actual bracelet?
So... for various reasons I wear the DS every day with a maratec zulu which means that the bracelet is sitting in the box getting 0 attention.
Then I got to thinking that on occasion, I wouldn't mind wearing a bracelet (in addition to a watch, not nec. the DS) and that the DS's bracelet would make a lovely, uh, bracelet. I'm _guessing_ that means that I've got to either buy another bracelet entirely or buy about 4ish smaller links. Any clue what either of those options would cost me? I'm also guessing the service center won't just sell me a bunch of links... but I'm also guessing they would sell me an entire bracelet as if I'd lost my original. What do you think? And how much might it cost? |

I'm thinking you would need a second clasp and could only do it with adjustable links. I'm not even sure that will work.

I doubt that it would be easy just to pick up the bracelet - no doubt Rolex have that covered off, maybe by way of very high cost?

I don't think this is gonna be easy! You will need a lot of links and they should be facing the direction, otherwise you will not be able to connect them in one uniform circle around tour wrist. Also you will have to somehow remove the SELs which will be very difficult!
Be careful of what you do coz the DSSD bracelet is probably the most expensive steel rolex bracelet out there, and you wouldn't want to damage it!

How will you overcome the opposing ends?
Only way I see it could be done is a complete loop of removable links around the wrist as then the male/female parts would be continuous but then you would have to screw the links together on your wrist! |

It seems as though it would be easier and less damaging if you could find a way to put something in place of the watch head thereby using the endlinks already present. Remember the old I.D. bracelets of the 1970's ? That was just a chain with a plate of metal in the center. You could have your name, initials, or a big Rolex icon on the plate. You might just need some tools, a stainless steel plate to cut to size, a way to solder something to the plate that could be connected to the springbars and endlinks. That is my two cents.

You're looking about $1200.00 for a bracelet
I like The idea I wonder what Rolex would say if you wanted a bracelet and told them you lost yours and if they would ask how you lost it?

The clasp on its own is well over $1200.

Where's the box? I can't be the only person who wears zulu's, for a variety of reasons. |

Here's an idea: Put the bracelet back on your DSSD.

Cannot understand why gold has been worn for thousands of years while SS is a new metal in year terms. And gram for gram a Rolex SS bracelet is almost as costly as if it was 9 or 10 Ct gold.

The bracelet for a Submariner in the Netherlands costs about 1800 EUR list,
which is over 2000 $. This also means that the bracelet for DeepSea is even more expensive. |

Your probably looking at $2500 for the bracelet..... also IMHO it's just not going to be a good look when finished. Sounds great in theory I agree but this may be one of those ideas that is best left in the initial "eureka" stage.

It would be cool. If you have the dime and the time try it out. I would at least try.
