Insurance pay out - at last !!
Well after what feels like 6 long weeks since my burglary, I have had my pay out...
I think I've finalised my purchases - an LV Sub, and an Orange bezel S/S Omega Planet Ocean (I will buy the orange alligator strap too).. Now, do any of you gents in the UK know of any shops with LV's in stock ? Here's the catch - gotta be :- Goldsmiths Mappin & Webb Watches of Switzerland If anyone knows anything - I'm prepared to travel.. Can get one from local WOS in 6-8 weeks - but don't wanna wait !!! Thankfully the PO isn't as much of a problem

John, the Manager at Goldsmiths Torquay, is a top gent and he'll give you the absolute best service - guaranteed. I've bought 5 Rolexes from him in the past 2 years and I definitely wouldn't go anywhere else.

As it happens since I spoke with him, my (more) local branch (30 mins drive) has called and offered the same. I have opted to drive the 8 hour round trip purely on the way I was spoken to on the phone - good service goes a long way in my book, and should be appreciated. The guy is opening his shop up on a Sunday whilst usually closed - what a gent. Pics to follow !!

Glad it got there at last Dan
Just a thought, but couldn't you ring the HO's of all three stores & let them have a look at the available stock on their system? |

It's too bad some scumbag ripped you off in the first place. That is one of my biggest peeves in life. I always figure most people work hard for the money they get and then some low life who does not want to work steals from you. Or white collar crime where they steal from everybody - like Enron.
Congratulations on getting your payout and getting some nice watches back in your life. Terry Newton

Dan,
Goldsmiths in Torquay had a brand new one delivered last week - I tried it on straight out of the plastic Rolex shipping box. It was great, but I went for the GMT II instead. When I left last Friday, it was still in the window. I've got the Manager's details, if you want them - name & phone number etc.

G'Day Dan,
So glad that you've received your insurance compensation. The S/S Plant Ocean is a superb choice. Would love to see some images when you get them. Has there been any further on the investigation regarding the offender/s. Cheers Michael |
