Icon5 can a white gold - day-date be used as a daily watch ???

I have a date-just II SS with white face and gold white bezel. I always loved the day-date bracelet and was looking at upgrading my date-just II for the DDII… But once I had the gold DDII on my wrist, I just did not have the warm and fuzzy with the color of gold on my wrist.

So having said that, while I was searching for the DDII (a conversation was struck about the SS daytona’s and I have always wanted one, but did not want to pay the same cost or more than what a brand new one cost.... oh I can get a brand new 2014 SS for you . Long long story but I was able to get a brand new SS Daytona with a white face). So I purchased it.

so.... my question is .. if I just wanted to have 1 Rolex, could you use a DDII in white gold as a daily watch OR should I just keep the Daytona and get a DDII in white gold for special events.

(do you think you could wear the DDII white as your daily watch) I have a couple of other watches (not high-end) but can wear if needed

Or get the DDII (white) and keep them both ??? Is there that much of a difference between the DDII (white with white face) and a Daytona SS (white face) ???

thoughts please

DD II in wg would be an awesome daily watch!

Non-WIS types would think it is SS and everyone would think it's a great-looking watch...

You certainly can in WG, but if you don't get a warm and fuzzy feeling over gold then why buy one, maybe better to just have the Daytona and DJ instead.

Once you wear it every day, it transforms from a Rolex Day-Date to Your Watch.
My father-in-law wore his yellow DD every day (until someone tried to take it off his wrist in Naples, Italy). The first time I saw it, I was impressed to behold a DD "in the wild." As time went by, it simply became a watch, and didn't stand out as the extraordinary watch it is.
So yes! Make it your only, make it your daily. It can be done!

Well it displays the day of the week, so perhaps that is a sign...?

I wear mine as a daily watch and it does the job amazingly, it is very under the radar even with my diamond dial.

Really almost any Rolex can be a daily watch. They are tanks, nothing delicate about it.

If any DD can take on daily duty (and they all can) then most certainly the WG model can.

Unless spotted by a WIS, 99% will not have any clue that it isn't steel.

I wear my wg daytona (Grail) on special occasions only because the gold is fairly soft and marks up easy. Stainless blnr and explorer II as a daily driver

I've yet been asked about my WG SubC and love it! Absolutely as a daily wear piece.
