[Daytona???] 4 = IIII ????

After about a month of loving my WG Meteor Daytona I just noticed something. I can't believe I never saw this since I do nothing all day but stare at the face!!! Take a look:

I never noticed that the 4 o'clock position has IIII on it, rather than the typical IV.

Any idea why? Do they do that on all models with roman numerals?

Weird......

I don't know, but I wonder why the DD with the Large Roman Dial has an I for 1 AND 11!

Well if makes you feel any better.. I just looked at a bunch of Meteorite Dial Daytonas online and they were all IIII instead of IV

Actually, IIII has been more widely used than IV. Here's a read for you:

Btw, your Daytona is beautiful.

I wasn't worried, just curious.

Maybe 12 should be VIIIIIII?

"IIII" has been the roman numeral representation of "4" on watch dials for many years now. It has to do with asthetics (dial is more balanced) and readability (can't confuse "IV" and "VI").
