what sunglasses do you wear with your rolex

i only wear one rolex, similarly i only wear one pair of shades. for the past decade, it's been the all-black rayban aviators. yesterday i copped a set of guccis and they are awesome: like aviators but a little bigger and thicker without overdoing it. also wanted the reflective lenses this time around.

it's a bigger deal than most would think... sunglasses make up part of your daytime face (i don't wear eyeglasses/contacts).

Persol with prescription lenses. Black and simple. Just like a Submariner.

Have we even decided it's safe to wear a rolex while wearing sunglasses yet?

I sometimes have this problem when we go shopping on a sunny day and I am wearing only prescription sunglasses. When we get in a shop I have the choice of risking bumping into people or looking like an idiot. I usually go for the former, but probably end up the latter anyway.

Had the same problem. Now I have photochromic lenses in my eyeglasses; they never darken as much like sunglass-lenses but it works as in I don't have to carry around two pairs in the summer.

At any rate, I wear Cutler & Gross

LOL. No, these are custom made to match and fit perfectly the frames of my prescription eyeglasses. They don't flip up at all. When I'm going indoors I either put them in my shirt pocket or leave them in the car. Got them through my optometrist. More and more frames are available with optional clip-ons from the manufacturer but many aren't. So there are facilities that provide the service of making custom ones to order through an optometrist that match whatever frames you have perfectly. The frames I chose did not have clip-ons available so I had them custom made.

I wear my eyeglasses all the time so it's easier than having to carry a separate pair of prescription shades everywhere. And while not cheap at $200+ they're still less expensive than a nice pair of prescription sunglasses. I usually order a couple and keep them in the cars so they are handy whenever I drive.

I don't get the shades indoors thing. I also find it kind of silly when I see someone with them on the top of their head in a bar, club, restaurant or someplace and it's been night time for hours already. I mean, really, is that the look you are going for - the "I'm so unaware I don't even realize I've got sunglasses on my head" look? Because if they're going for the male model/movie star look, it's tough to pull off unless you are one.

imo sunglasses on create distance, so it can say "i don't want to be bothered". though all too often when i see it the message is more like "i'm so famous (or trying to be)"

top of the head... yeah that's a clash. it's like "i wanna be noticed but really i'm not anyone"

Ray Ban in the Porsche. Polarized lenses mess up reading the LCDs. Maui Jims or Oakley wire frames most of the time. Oakley Halfjacket on the boat or motorcycle.

Bronze dial is really growing on me, nice.

I live in England so don't really know what these sunglasses you guys keep talking about are.

Maui Jim, one pair, and easily my favorite.
Persol, 4 pairs. RayBan, Prada, and Oakley, one pair each.
My God, I have more sunglasses than watches. At least they're cheaper than Rolexes...

Chrome Hearts, Louis Vuitton, Versace and Cartier. I tend to rotate around 10 pairs. As far a style, I have all the major ones covered with these.
