any guesses/estimates for DD II yellow gold MSRP in US $???

current YM gold (40mm) is $25K
current YM II gold (43mm) is $33.6K
current DD gold (36mm) is $24.8K

my guess DD II gold (41mm) will be $29K???

i hope it comes in under $30K. i have a K series (2002) DD w/ diamond dial yellow gold in excellent/near mint condition. how much should i expect on a trade? or will i be better off selling it now before the DDII hits the market? but, i'm not certain where i could/should sell.

My guess is that this is really going to hurt the 36mm DD as far as trade in. Really all they've changed on the DD up to this point is the bracelet, and unless you had really bad band stretch no one could really tell the age of your watch, so why upgrade? Not anymore.

I mean, I started a thread last week on how I was going to change my grail watch to something like a YG Daytona because I'm just not going to move down to a 36mm case. Everyone said that Rolex wouldn't dare change the DD, but of course they have now, and my guess is that most will hold out for the 40 or just buy a cheaper watch.

I'm wearing my YG DD 36mm now. It looks and feels like a classic watch - and even though I love my YM (40mm) and SS Daytona and Panerai, the DD will always be the watch I always aspired to own. So I probably won't get the 40mm.

But I AM hoping that the 40mm kills the sales of the 36mm, and that they stop making the 36mm. Then my watch will be worth more than a hunk of gold.

Rolex won't stop production of the 36 mm models. It would just about kill the Asian and Far East markets - a very huge chunk of Rolex sales.

Don't think it would hurt them at all, JJ. Might actually help...the Asian and Far East markets are some of the worst offenders in the "oversize watch" mania.

I feel the same way and I hope you're right on the value of the 36mm.

I will be very interested in finding out how much the bigger DD will be.
At the moment a Y/G DD is about £12,700 so I would estimate that the new one will be about £14,000 - £14,500
Like the new size, but not the new dials.
Prefer the more traditional ones

according to the rolex cite it has went from 36mm to 41mm so it is considerably bigger.

The US prices are generally a bit less than the direct conversion rate, as these also include VAT (value added tax).

I may be a bit bias but I like the classic looks of my DD better.

the new DDs look more sporty but mine looks classy, especially when one is dressed up.

IMO nothing beats this look and its been around for over 20 years.

I feel the same way. Thats why I always wanted a Prez, if I want a larger model I wear my sub. I just have to forget they changed the all time classic DD.
