President Bracelet Compatibility
Will a President bracelet fit a Day-Date head regardless of the vintage?
I'm debating getting a President (watch and bracelet), but wonder about compatibility of the bracelet with other Day-Date heads. |

No.. Like all other models, the SEL generation of heads has a lip machined in the back of the case to accept/register the endlink. Machined cases started in the 90's.

Very helpful. Thank you. So if I have a pre-SEL bracelet from say late 80's, it should fit an 1803 from the 60's? Are the yellow gold alloys comparable or will the color be mismatched from different vintages? |

i have to disagree on this one, solid end link bracelets in solid gold started in the 60's, in solid gold including this was the case even in the super jubilee style band for the gold datejust (a bit later 80's for sj) and machined lips started way back in the 60's with the 1803 on the case, an 80's band will fit a 60's 1803 no problem, however, the curve of the endlink is ever so slightly different (straighter) and less curved on older ones
