Blue Lume

Chromalite started in 2008 for the DSSD and later for some models IIRC. And it depends on the model as to when it changed. For example, the 114060 was in 2012.

I have a 214270 Explorer with a G serial but not sure if it has chromalite? It kind of looks green but I'm not sure...

The blue loom sometimes looks a green or aqua type colour in certain situations. I asked the same question when i bought my ExpII a couple of years ago. At that time it was suggested to me that the green lume is absolutely, unquestionably green and after researching, it became clear that mine was not the older Rolex green lume colour. Mine is a G serial too. The green and blue are very very different when viewed side by side, even if the blue can look a greeny shade sometimes.

Cool, thanks. Am I right in thinking a G serial is from about 2010?

Thanks for this. So does anyone know if the 39mm 214270 explorer was launched with the chromalite? Or are there some pieces which have the old green lume?
