WOW HK - pic heavy
Just wanted to share some pics of the show I attended yesterday.
Very excited and on my way in. The first booth.... VC offer the visitors a closer look at their artistic crafts: Gem setting at Piaget: JLC's watchmaker working on the Gyrotourbillon A stop at Montblanc for some watch making fun and a look around. One of the more interactive booths at the show Montblanc's steel perpetual calendar for under $20,000! Meisterstück Heritage Pulsograph A crack at watch making - trying to connect the hairspring onto the balance wheel AP next Taking a crack at polishing the Royal Oak bezel A peek into the watch making class - 3 hours long. IWC and its lovely ladies Some pics of all the crazy RMs I spent the most time at Lange. The Lange 1 20th anniversary set The wife and I loved these two pieces in rose gold. |

Wow, Thanks for sharing. Great pictures.
I love how you could actually try some of the watch making and polishing yourself. That was really cool. I'd say you had a fantastic day. |

Thanks guys. I had a great time. I think I actually converted my wife with this little field trip. After seeing the micro parts, the effort involved and all the artistic crafts that go into make a fine watch...she go quite interested. Actually caught her going through one of the watch magazines we picked up at the show.
This only was just a small taste from 13 manufacturers. I think Basel World would be complete sensory overload. |

Hong Kong is watch heaven. Bought my first Rolex there, from an AD, back in '94.
Hope the pro-democracy protests are successful! |
