Wife wanted a little YG so I was thinking....

she has alot of white gold and diamonds but also YG. she never wears the YG jewlery and watch cause doesnt have any YG watches

well me I tried to get a YG Daytona, and she didnt go for that, darn!

she saw this and imed liked it. My AD would give me a BIG discount on it.

My question is would it look ok on me? everyone posts up the classic 36mm size and I kinda miss that option

so this would be a present for the wife, but thinking would look ok if I wore it also??

thoughts....

thanks

tom

Of course it would! The 36mm datejust is Rolex's best seller for reason, as well as the most copied watch in the world. A wise man once told me, "stick with the classics, there's a reason their classic"

Not my cup of tea. I would buy secondhand if I was going for a classic DJ because they all look really similar and it would be much cheaper..

yes that is good advise and even my AD said dont waste your money on new we have plenty on our list of used to choose from

this is another great thing about my AD they have a huge computer data bank of used watches they are selling you could browse for hours and save a boat load!

I found a Pepsi GMT for under 5k, but had a deposit on it!

I think it would look great Tom!! My wife has two 36mm pieces and I have just picked out one for myself that I will be committing to in the upcoming days.

Pretty excited about it I might add:)

Looks great, Tom.

Nothing wrong with a 36mm watch. I wore one, and I'm always tempted to grab another one. It's great if you ever wear long sleeve shirts.

appreciate the input. I dont have a DJ and the 41 mm looked way to big on the wife

so guess will add the 36 DJ as an option to go to, mostly for the wife

I am a sports watch non-dress up guy but will give it a spin once in a while!

I will do it for Christmas and post some WRUW pics in Dec

thanks for the input all appreciate it as always!!

I think 36mm might be the perfect watch size, or perhaps 38mm.

Nothing wrong with a DJ, I wouldn't get one with diamonds though. But if it's for the Wife I can imagine she likes them.

Tom, the DJ looks great on your wrist, but I am very sure it will look even better on your wife. Great Christmas gift. I would say you have a great selection of 40mm watches and so there will be no time for you to wear this one.

Looks great Tom. Looks very sharp. You never know, you might fns a more formal opportunity to wear this one or, that you might just wear it for the lightness of it. I bet your female patients would notice it if you wore it to work with all those diamonds. You know how women are with their diamonds.

Actually the photo of the DJ on your wrist looks great.
I used to collect vintage, where 36mm was on the bigger side. A 34mm Air King was one of my favs.
Somewhere along the line it changed. A year of wearing vintage 42mm Speedmasters and then Exp2/Daytona/Aquanaut 40mm must have done me in. I bought a 36mm DJ, and couldn't bond. Just sold it.
On my wife, the 36mm DJ looks fantastic!
I would be fooling myself buying a 36mm DJ for her with MY wrist in mind. I have a few fantastic pieces for my wrist already.
For now, I'm done with 36mm. And it kinda breaks my heart b/c there is a lot of class and history in many examples that size.
The Tiger Eye dial President or 1016 Explorer may seduce me again someday...

Tom, you mention that the DJ II was way to big on your wife. I know she wears the blue Sub normally with the maxi case & wider lugs. What was her impression of the DJ II? Were the lugs too long, too top heavy? Or did she think for the style of the watch that the 36mm is the best size? Thanks. :-)

thanks was hoping you would give me your opinion I appreciate it!

she tried both sizes on and really even to me the DJII looks awkward on her and the 36 perfect. was just too wide across her wrist, sorry no pic but will do next time

thanks for your input

I love my 36mm DJ, the size is perfect for my 7.25" wrist. In fact, any case between 36mm and 40mm is my sweet spot.

Tom,

That looks great on you! To my eyes, it looks better proportioned than the blue Sub!

Did you consider a YG Day-Date instead of DJ? The all gold weight would be familiar to her (and you), and it's a classic style for men that also looks fashionable on women. There are tons of used examples, and great diamond dial choices.

Anyway, just a thought... I'm sure whatever you choose will look smashing on both of you!

admit if really going by wrist size and proportion it is just right

I love the 40mm on both of us and this just fits in well
