Double Incoming.....Thank You DavidSW
The first watch was a local purchase with another TRF member. It was a great transaction speaking with a fellow WIS. He originally purchased this watch from DavidSW so this was a second degree of separation purchase from David.
I originally wanted the Snoopy variation since I was a fan growing up and the Charles Schultz Museum is local to me which I've visited several times. Unfortunately, I realized that I would probably purchase this only to let it sit in the safe deposit box as I would want to keep it in pristine condition and my watches are for wearing. So I passed on several NOS Snoopy examples and went with the 3570.50. The second watch was something I had never considered. I grew up watching my dad wear his 1601 and to me a Rolex was a sub, GMT or DJ. I wasn't as familiar with other models, even the Daytona. However, after spending the past couple of years on TRF and visiting various AD's this watch and specific model started to catch my eye. The colors of this watch also represent my high school and undergrad school. My grad school had different colors. I never purchased a high school or undergrad ring so this would be the next closest thing. I also attend some college football games and alumni events of my almer mater from time to time and this would be a great watch to wear. The real clincher was when the SF Giants won their third World Series title in the last five years. The night they won I emailed David and asked if he had one available. A few emails later and I had purchased the watch. The transactions with David are getting easier and easier - do you have the watch and how much is it - done deal! Thank you David!!! |

When you get two new watches so close to each other -- how in the world do you decide which to wear??!

Don't cross the Bay and become an Oakland A's fan. Besides the annual heartbreak of making the playoffs without advancing past round one, the A's Rolex is a pricey one!

Thanks Mike! It's been a great addition to the collection! Quote:
The annual heartbreak between the A's and Shark's has been tough. Just glad to have great sports teams in the area - including Cal and Stanford. Beautiful watch! Thanks everyone! |
