Not a lot of sympathy for Rose from me. I have different parts of me hurt daily and I still drag my ass up and go to work. He's making nearly $19 million to play a frigging game. If he doesn't have the cojones to suit up, he deserves everything he gets. Football players, I totally understand. This guy wears shorts and a tank top. What a pansy.

Here's his most recent quote before he injured his hamstring this week;

"I know a lot of people get mad when they see me sit out or whatever, but I think a lot of people don't understand that when I sit out it's not because of this year. I'm thinking about long term. I'm thinking about after I'm done with basketball. Having graduations to go to, having meetings to go to, I don't want to be in my meetings all sore. Or be at my son's graduation all sore just because of something I did in the past. I'm just learning and being smart."

I am sure his lesser paid teammates loved hearing that. Should be great for team chemistry.

I understand there's life after sports. Wanting to live a healthy one is a no brainier. He isn't playing football.

This would change the whole nature of pro-sports. For the positive. Gotta play to get paid.

Play to pay, I've been saying this for years.

Oh, and as for Rose... Are you kidding me with his statement?

Living here all I can say is local sports media are still in love. From what I am hearing is that Bulls Management are the cautious ones. Rumor was that he might be uninsurable if injured again or comes back to soon from any injury. I still enjoy watching him however Noah is now the Bulls IMO

Bulls Fans

I think that if you are going to cash the checks you need to pay thru the pain. I get that the Bulls made a multi year multi million dollar commitment to D Rose and want to make sure he can play thru out that contract, but they also want to win championships. If the Bulls can win 3 championships in 5 years playing D Rose 75% of the time, why not? It was more the delivery not the content in this particular case. Had he spun it like above no one would have a problem with it. Just like Charles Barkley said. Not a single one of us is guaranteed tomorrow, but in the case of professional athletes, they need to make sure they get theirs while they can. But I cannot stand how these guys over spend, foolishly, and then go broke. That bothers me immensely.

What about the St. Louis Rams?? Pay Sam Bradford $60m of guaranteed money and the guy has not played a complete season in 4 years since he signed the deal. NFL does not allow those big old rookie contracts anymore. So the players really to get their money on the second contract, after they have earned the big $$$. For example, Andrew Luck, deserves big $$$.

Who does he think he is......MJ??

Even 1 championship is more than I would realistically expect.

It's early in the season. As long as he doesn't get injured in the 2nd half of the season we should be ok.

We need to give the guy a break. When playing he's playing hard and well IMHO. Of course he needs to be careful to last, having that injury history. / Greetings from a country whose national team sucks bigtime
