That is the toughest "perp" I have ever seen. Hopefully our police won't run into a guy with his endurance and skills.

I think the suspect would have felt a little voltage within second of them realizing he was this much of a threat.

pah ,,, they just jumped on him ,,, ill bet it wouldnt play out that way for real ,,

long story cut short ,,,, big row in a belfast pub , hells angel went to slap another , hit a girl in the way by mistake , her boyfriend joined in , along with another hells angel ,,,
three seconds later a wee five foot five lightweight guy stepped in , wiped the floor with four six foot monster guys , never took a hit , never raisd his voice , never even looked fussed or fazed at all....
lesson , dont judge a book by its size ,,, oh , and dont fight with the pros

thankyou barry mcquigan ,, what a ring side seat i had.
and as nice a guy as you would ever meet too.

Well...

I got some thoughts about this video.

Firstly everyone involved knows they won't get seriously hurt.

Second, the "bad guy" could have fairly easily reached for the purple thing in the holster of the police with the black shirt. Obviously in this "play" a no-go.

Onward, the officers here clearly knew their thing. An overweight policeman close to retirement would most likely have been a bit less of a resistance.

Luckily very few men are trained like the MMA fighters. And those who are take their sport seriously and are not criminals.

I'll end with, luckily there's tasers nowadays. In the old days the Police had 3 foot batons. Both works.

I'll show a video that I'm ashamed to show. Finnish Police...

One Estonian guy. Some of these guys should think twice about their carrier choices if you ask me.

But it does turn the tables a bit once the other part shows no fear.

The one teaching the class is like family to me. He is Rener Gracie and calls me Uncle Ken to this day. I have known him since he was a kid and know his whole family as I trained at Gracie Academy for many years. Here is a picture of him at my house here last time he came to visit to teach law enforcement here in Western Pa. Anyway good stuff!! Cheers,
Rener about to drink his daily watermelon juice:

There's the Dojo, and then there's real life.
In reality it all happens a bit quicker and rougher.

The guy in the second clip obviously has martial arts background and the police seem unsure of what they want to achieve. Pepper spray is useless.

Theres a huge difference between mma fighting styles such as boxing, muay thai, ans brazilian jiujitsu and the ones you may be thinking of, ie: karate TKD and other traditional martial arts that dont really work in the street
Since this is a gracie video theyre showcasing BJJ. BJJ is meant to be able to fight on the ground (grapple) via a takedown. BJJ uses blood chokes, tracheal chokes and leverage to break limbs. BJJ is probably the most effective single MA as showcased by the gracies in early pride and UFC fights. When you train at a gym or "dojo" you are actually able to spar at 100% which is why it translates so well into street fighting.
