Rolex Watches Weight Comparison

I was looking for a correct answer to how much a Platinum Daytona weighted and thanks to helpful members I learnt it .
Well, I thought I have to inform members or Rolex Owners who would wonder exact weight of their watches

One link is missing in GMT II and it sat in the box .It should weight around 3-3.5 grams

The BLNR is deceptive...It is very small and light in person. Pics make everything look bigger...Man was i disappointed in the BLNR in person.

I've held a BLNR side by side with a sub and it's much lighter. I was pretty surprised.

The Platinum Daytona with all links weight is 282.60grams about 9.0665 troy ounces total that includes movement and crystal.

White gold 116509 Daytona around 202g, 16520 Daytona around 137.5 grams,but cannot understand with many today wanting to know the weigh of any watch.Does weight make the watch better or is it today with many that bigger heavier is always better which is not always the case.

I also don't understand the weight thing. A small man with a small girly looking wrist wearing a Platuna or a YM II looks silly to me and surely will not impress anyone.

Don't confuse weight with size. While a larger watch could weigh more, you can also see how the gold and platinum watches weigh more than their SS cousins as it is only a function of the metal's density.

I think that this is a fair question as some people do not (or can not, as we have seen in a previous post) want a heavy watch and others feel that they need to feel some heft on their wrist to justify spending the money.

As usual, different tastes for different people. :)

My 116509 with all links weiged 222g and my 116520 with all links weighed 144g. This was on my girlfriend's Homedics home food scale. Not exactly a precision instrument, but should be very close to accurate.

Maybe cos the dj2 is bigger an has gold contents makes it heavier...

As much as the weight of a watch is not directly correlated to its quality, I must say that this sensory input is definitely part of the overall feel that one experiences.

For example, it was also my first impression when I got my Speerdmaster Professional chronograph (with hesalite) to note how much lighter it was when compared to my Seamaster 300m diver.

By the same token, I was massively unimpressed by the BLNR the very first time I wore it on my wrist.... Just underwhelmed by the size and the weight.

By comparisons was really impressed by the SD4000...

At the end of the day, I got used to my Speedy and I want to get a BLNR so bad that I keep checking it out at ADs to see if I will eventually pull the trigger.
