Rose gold vs YG vs wg
I would have guessed 20/30/50 percent in that order. A recent dealer said YG 70/ rg 20 And WG 10. Maybe it depends on the region? Thoughts?

For me personally I prefer in this order: WG, RG, YG
But like Tom said, some people want their expensive gold watch to look like an expensive gold watch whilst of course they could simply prefer the colours |

For me the choice to buy gold had nothing to with the color and everything to do with the weight, texture, and how easily it absorbs and retains body heat. My choice to go with white gold is it's flexibility. White matches everything where yellow and rose gold have places where they look amazing and others where they just don't fit.

If I had to choose between a Gold or Everose Daydate, I wouldn't known what to pick to be honest.
I still remember the Everose DD I saw at an AD. It looked so unbelievably good. |

Interesting as for many top luxury watch brands RG dominates and by a landslide and YG lags big time. I am speaking about Patek, Lange, RM, AP etc.
* Especially when you also factor in Asian demand.

That's coz RG is usually on a strap. In the bracelet models I think it's the other way around...the YG dominates.

Taste is such an individual matter that it's hard to do more than simply remark on the reported percentages. That said, my tastes (and mine only) are as follows; your mileage of course will vary.
I prefer YG on a traditional dress watch (which to me means a slim case on a leather strap). I'd probably forego YG on a dress watch with a metal band because (again my taste only) it's too much, too flashy. I prefer WG on the Rolex "tool" line because it preserves the traditional look while providing the heft and pleasure of gold, and while flying under the radar (which to me is appealing, I like knowing what I've got and others not). RG I'd save for certain models that seem to fit it so well, like the Daytona and the Sky Dweller. I'd take platinum over any of the golds, on any watch that has that option. |

PS and yes most are on straps but for one's on bracelet RG again dominates big time just like it does on strap. The demand around world for YG watches is low outside of Rolex and USA.

RG/YG/WG for me....and to be honest I would not purchase white gold, I prefer the yellow or rose color.

The 70/20/10 ratio sounds about right... I've come around to finding Platinum more interesting than all the gold alloys anyway.

Rose gold vs YG vs wg
Depends on the piece... Rolex makes a fantastic RG. The AP finish is phenomenal.
For me, YG, RG. If I want white, I go platinum. |

I love WG because only the wearer really knows what's going on there.
However, RG seems to be the way to go and YG being the safer and more traditional bet. I see a lot of RG on wrists than YG; that's for sure. |
