Kind of Funny

I recently posted that I went bananas for the BLRO. I love the thing. It is amazing.........

I have also posted that I am good no longer wearing Rolex for a few different reasons.

Even so, I worked out an entire savings plan for the BLRO. I had a path in mind.....it was set.....

I keep looking here, dammit.......I see a thread showing the BLNR and the BLRO side by side.

I say to myself, well......maybe I should just get the BLNR. Clearly, it is very similar. Clearly, it is very awesome.......

I send a pic to the future wife.....

She sends me this back.....

update:

I call my local AD. I have bought a lot of watches there.......

I hosted a GTG there.

I bought my wedding ring there.....

I get someone I don't know on the phone. She puts me on hold. She comes back on and she says they do not have one in.

I ask to speak to the manager.

He tells me he did not realize it was me.......

They do have one in stock.....

I ask for a discount....

He says they can't.....

He suggests that he call the owner......

I thank him for his consideration.....

He is calling me back.....

I have problems........

Seth, you need me to look for the 800 number for the help line? I am sure fellow members have it on speed dial.

Just go get it now, you know that is what will happen!!!

I really do like the BLRO better. I just don't like the price tag.

But yeah, I know exactly what will happen. :bang head:

I must not be an addict because to me an exit watch is the timepiece I plan to be buried with.

Whoah, wake up call for me!!! "Cancel your holidays for a Patek..." I was just thinking of that exactly that all week! Planning a trip to Bora Bora next year but was considering a 5711 instead. Wife didn't look too happy when I sheepishly mentioned it.

Who has time for holidays? There are Pateks to be had. Really comical article.

Update:

I won't name the AD because I really do like them so much.......they are great people.....

That said, 0 discount.

I was a little surprised. I was hoping for them to cover the tax.

With the amount of business I have given them, I am genuinely disappointed. I read on here all the time about various discounts from AD's, even for the new watches.

I have probably purchased close to 7 watches over a 5 years period.

I have to admit, the way I feel right now, for $626, they lost all potential future sales to me.

Oh well, such is life.

That article made me laugh.

Seth, you're not obsessed. You just have an all consuming desire to get a certain watch!

I imagine the BLRO would look mighty on your wrist. May it happen soon.

Got a laugh out of that!
I hope things work out in your favor with the BLRO.
You definitely, without a doubt should have been offered a discount given your history with that AD.
