I will admit it is growing on me.
How long before the replica houses knock it off? Sooner than the authentic AD's receive their lots? Awesome shot!

I have always really liked the look of the watch overall, I never had a negative reaction to it initially. However, I don't ever see myself owning it.
It looks great on that wrist shot though, the domed sapphire crystal looks awesome!!!

It has grown on me too. If the DSSD was of a similar price to the GMTIIc here in Australia I would have a damn hard choice to make. I like big chunky watches. Just my opinion. Michael |

No matter how popular this model becomes, the SD 16600 will always greatly be missed...

Not too hard, it should be available probably by the end of the Summer/beginning Autumn at earliest in the United States. That doesn't mean that it will initially be easily available though. Some wait lists have already been filled just to get this baby.

I love it, I honestly do, but is that really going to work with any suit that's not wet and made of neoprene?

In my honest opinion, probably not.

Is the actual dial itself bigger than the current Sea Dweller. It looks like they just fattened and horizonalized the steel chapter ring to make up the difference.
What's the point of that? Just to write addition verbiage on the chapter ring? Why not make the dial bigger instead, if this is supposed to be the ultimate diving watch? |

I can't see it fitting comfortably under that shirt cuff.
I wish the size of the dial was larger but that hasn't happen. I guess you could wear a huge block of steel on your wrist if you wanted. Personally, I really thank Rolex for this watch as it makes me appreciate my vintage SD soo much more

Seriously though...why all the talk about the DS fitting under a cuff & that being an issue? Lets get real, if that's a deal breaker on buying this watch, then your priorities are a little out of whack if you ask me...that's pretty low on my list of why I would (or wouldn't) purchase this watch.
If you want a $10K dress watch, then buy one (instead of a sports watch)...the DS isn't perfect...but the one area it shouldn't be knocked is its inability to neatly fit under a cuff. Why don't we start knocking some of Patek's dress watches for their inability to be a great dive watch while we're at it?!? Is there a difference? |

Tough to tell, but personally I believe it will be even harder to get than the Milgauss GV and SS Daytona. Quote:
What saddens me to see is that the rehaut branding unfortunally IS as obvious as I had feared. Still have to see it in real life to judge if the DSSD is for me, though. Jake, what is the source of the pic, please??
