Is this acceptable?

Hi all
Following on from my previous threads of bezel misalignment and buying a new D-blue I am looking at pulling the trigger on this new d-blue tomorrow.
Thing is I have noticed the bezel triangle is slightly off to the left of 12 o'clock
Question is - is this within acceptable limits and am i being picky or would this do your head in and be a deal breaker?

Thanks in anticipation !

Sometimes these bezels do not line up perfectly at 12:00. I understand the watch costs a lot of money, and if this is something you cannot live with I suggest looking at other brands. Good Luck with your purchase.

Edit: That bezel looks fine

Couldn't have said it better.

The only "tolerance" that need be addressed is the buyer. In use the triangle doesn't correlate to anything on the dial.

That sounds a bit extreme.

Might looking at another example of the same watch be a reasonable first step..?

I've seen around ten deepsea's and probably 8 of them were slightly off to the left. I can't get hold of any d-blues to make a comparison but it seems statistically likely that I'm going to get one that's off to the left. If they were all like that I would get it but there is some variation to my surprise.
If I wait any longer to find another d-blue to see if it's straighter it's going to be months

Are you sure it's misaligned in all those watches you saw? Could it not be that the owner did not bother to millimetrically align the bezel perfectly with 12?

It wasn't the owner that misaligned the bezel I held each of the pieces myself in a variety of AD's and I couldn't get it to 12 despite best efforts. (On most)

+1

I was about to post the same but I read the entire thread to check if someone else would have commented about this.

The OP would need to have a look at the watch in person and play around with the bezel. You can't just make a decision based on pictures alone.

Looks fine to me. It's just a watch and Rolex today is so mass produced they are not perfect and never will be. Wear and Enjoy

I was basing my comment on the fact that OP already returned a Sub due to "Bezel Misalignment"...

The picture angle can make it look slightly off. That watch looks great.

Thanks ever so much for your comments. I didn't take the picture the AD did and it's miles away so I can't check before I travel.
Any more thoughts anyone?

Yes. Stop sweating it, pick it up and enjoy that watch. I have a friend dying for it and he would be elated to be getting one.

In that case you need to go see it for yourself. Unless you're an expert in photogrammetry, it's not possible to tell if the triangle is lined up from that photograph.

I couldn't get bent out of shape over the triangle alignment. Even if it is perfectly lined up with a laser, as soon as you move your head one millimetre it's going to be out of line through parallax.

Nice watch. I'd certainly be happy with the one in the picture.

Grab it and don't worry about it.
Also, sometimes the distance between the bezel and dial can give the illusion of it being slightly off when it isn't.

As long as the bezel is lining up with the minute hand to time your dive or anything else, you're golden!

My brand new SubC has the same exact issue. In my OCD mindset, yes I am a suffering, I have tried to move on. It's been two months and has bothered my less and less.

I know this does not answer your question directly, but it does appear judging by the above posts, that this is not uncommon.

Good luck and if you do purchase enjoy the fine timepiece.............

If you like the piece, just buy it and send it in to the RSC. They will replace the bezel for you. I had the same problem when I got my Sub C couple of years back.
