No more Rolex...Back in business after surgery
Well, at least for a while...
This past Saturday I was driving through an intersection while turning left. I looked out my window and saw a car quickly approaching me. I decided in that split second to hold onto the handle on the inside of my car door. It turns out that was not a good idea. BOOM! The impact to the drivers side broke a bone in my wrist and the A arm in my steering system (along with causing some minor cosmetic issues). I am waiting to see results on a CT SCAN to see if there is joint damage, if so I will need a very minor surgery including a metal pin to be inserted. I won't be able to wear a watch for another month or two so I was told. Why not wear them on my right wrist? Well, aside from it feeling super awkward, I have already bashed my Casio Pathfinder (which I was wearing at time of impact, and was probably a good thing since it has a flexible nylon strap on it) into MANY obstacles on my right wrist. I really do not want to add anymore frustration by damaging a nice watch. To top it off, I have an annual all guys weekend that starts this Friday, and now I'm not sure if I can make it out... Bummer with a capital B.... But it could have been worse and I'm glad I was all alone without my wife and daughters in the car at the time. Some pics... Good thing you didn't have a GMT -- you wouldn't have a diver's extension on the bracelet to fit around that bandage.

So glad you're pretty much okay! Could have been much worse, but you already know that! If your Sub needs ANY kind of service now might be a good time to get it done since you can't wear it anyway. I hope you heal quickly and that surgery isn't necessary!

First of all glad that you're safe and the accident was just limited to that. I'm curious about your arm, was the side airbag deployed? Do you think your arm broke because of the side airbag deployment while holding on the handle? |

Sorry to hear about your accident but I am glad that you are okay.
As you have said, be glad that your wife and kids were not in the car with you and in the grand scheme of things you got away without any very serious injuries. Good luck with the scans. I hope can avoid having surgery. Good Luck.
