Bund straps yes? no? outdated
Anybody have an opinion on bund straps? I have seen several nice looking pictures but never ventured on using one myself. Anyone know of good quality Bunds?
I tried to look in some of the strap site (Bulang for example) and I dont see any. Am I outdated? Any comments welcome? |

They always strike me as very "Roman".....the kind of thing that Spartacus would have worn if they had watches 2,000 years ago.

In all honesty, the reason I bring this up is because I happened to see Bruce Springsteen (yes the "Born in the USA" Bruce), not that I know the guy or anything () he just happened to be at a sports event yesterday.
He was wearing a Bund, it looked kind of sharp to me (and he is 65), it made me think of getting one for a sports Rolex (but of course I am not Bruce Springsteen ) Just wanted to bounce off here if wearing a Bund is not post midlife crisis mixed with vintage collecting!!! |

Nothing wrong with them, some folks like them, and the new Tudor Heritage Ranger comes with one as an option.

I think they have a really cool look. could be a fun way to switch things up as long as it is comfortable.

That's a lot of leather just to strap a watch to your arm.

I bought this custom Croc Bund from Stonecreekstraps Straps in Mesa AZ. The quality is second to none but the wait can be as long as 4-6 weeks. Jenna is great to work with. Gunny Straps in Germany will also do a custom Bund for you and Peter is great to work with. Here is mine fitted to my gold & stainless Submariner. Frankly, I found it a bit too much leather (Croc) and found myself wearing it most of the time without the "Bund" portion (pad beneath the watch head). Each to his own...definitely a unique look.

Never understood their allure. But if Springsteen has one, that seals the deal--I'm out. Feels like Id need to "accessorize" my strap with a trans am.

I've worn a Date-Just on a tan Bund style and it makes it look "sportier". So, it can increase the wrist presence of a "smaller" watch by just a little. I had my silver-on-silver Tudor Jumbo Day-Date on a green crocodile bund and it looked great.
