Welcome to TRF!
Frankly, I can see nothing wrong with the 40 marker on the pic. It might be the lousy monitor of my working PC, though. Sometimes, you would find an uneven amount of SuperLuminova in the markers. It is quite normal. But if I should find something "faulty" about the markers, I would say that the SuperLuminova on the rectangular marker at 9 o' clock seems to touch the white gold edge (end of the marker) towards the rehaut (ring along the dial). The SuperLuminova is supposed to be applied within the WG marker, not smeared over the edge. Again my apologies if I am just seeing things. As stated, it might just be my poor monitor. If you are unhappy about it, I'd go to your AD and claim a new dial for the watch since this is a quality issue, imho.

Can't see anything here. If it still bugs you bring it in and have it looked at. Why lament if it is still under warranty?

I think it is pretty normal if I understand what you are saying..
The lume is not a solid white color but has some translucence to it.. I believe the vintage, non gold surround paints were more opaque.

There have been sporadic reports of 'thin' spots in the Superluminova coating here before. When active, they may show up as variations in intensity. Tools pic above shows that. Ultimately, it's your decision whether you pursue it or not w/the RSC. In a perfect world, there would be a perfect, even coat and lighting. I'm still waiting for that perfect world....

I see it.
I have been known to be pretty finicky. I scrutinize every part of my watch the longer it stays on my wrist. I used to grade diamonds for a jewelry store so my eye is pretty trained. My GMTIIc has variance in the lume coating also. It used to bug me but it is something I don't really notice anymore. It looks slightly darker or faintly dirty on the markers. I chalk this up to being hand-applied and think it adds charecter. It really does not affect my lume as in the GMT pic above.
As for the 9'oclock marker, I could not live with that, JMHO. Whatever the case, if you are not happy, take it in. I could not deal with a Diamond or anything else for that matter that costs me as much as my watches!

I think what you're seeing is normal. The markers aren't SOLID white.
