New to me 1803
I picked up a nice 1803 5.1 million with a matte black dial earlier today and I am loving the black on black. I do have one concern about the dial as the lume glows after being under intense light. Could this be normal for a dial from 1977 as it does not appear to be relumed.
Comments welcome. |

Awesome Justin, I love it. Matte black on a DD
I'm not sure but that does seem odd from that time period. If it was 10 years earlier, from around 66/67 ,I would say it's normal for tritium to still glow a bit. I don't know much about 1803 dials. Is it possible the dial was replaced with an earlier dial. Regardless, you should just enjoy it. It's a beautiful watch. |

My first 1803 and definitely a keeper. I had never seen a black matte dial on a Day-Date before and I am very happy with the purchase. It's going to get lot of wrist time so I don't have to slow set it. |
