Which to keep to fund the GMT II BLNR?
Hi
I need Your help. I really like to buy the GMT II 116710 BLNR. The problem is money, of course. I have two Rolex's. One or two have to go in order to get the BLNR. A YM 16622 BLACK dial from 2001: (The year I started at university. 2000/2001.) - Older +WITH paper from the same country I live, box and booklet - A bit more wear marks + Fully serviced (nice but still some wear marks - it is from 2001!) - The bracelet is more loose due to earlier wear + Comfortable and exclusive but heavier. (Some extra grams are good.) - More blingy + Platinum! A Explorer II 16570 2005: (The year I finished my study.) +Newer & less wear marks +Tight bracelet with less wear - NO paper but with box and booklet (outside the country I live in, but still within Europe.) - No recent service done. It goes a bit fast, +6s/d. +GMT function +More comfortable to wear due to less weight - I probably need to get it served within 2 years time if I keep it So what should I do: 1) Sell the YM 16622 and get the BLNR? 2) Sell the Explorer II 16570 and get the BLNR? I have to save more. 3) Sell BOTH and get the BLNR without saving. Thanks!

The YM is a very elegant and classy watch and I would keep that.
I reckon once you have the BLNR the exp II would just gather dust. So I'd trade that, unless you have some emotional attachment to it.

How bad do you want the BLNR and like Chris said, do you have any emotional attachment to either of your two?
If not, I'd go all in on the GMT. Could easily fill every need in a watch. Otherwise, I'd keep the ExpII and get the BLNR. |

We don't know your financial situation, so only you can answer that part.
If you like the GMT function, keep your Exp II - especially if it's a white dial. It would really balance out the collection. |

I don't think I would go all in for just 1 watch, unless it was the 116718 (or 9). I chose option 2 as the BLNR would give you all the GMT function you need.

For me I would flip the Explorer and keep the YM and save a bit more for the BLNR, I of course hate waiting so I would probably flip both now and get the BLNR now but that is not the right thing to do IMO...

Very close poll.
Which one of them is easier to find later if I have sold both? My heart want to keep all.. My wallet says "Absolutely not and impossible!"

Lots of nice and wise guys voted for 3).
Is the BLNR really worth two classic Rolex (one with the most exclusive material in the world, Pt)?

I would sell both. Your collection needs a "refresh".

ym has to go, not a fan. Explorers are a must have and if yours is a white dial then that would pair perfectly with blnr

Black dial YM?
Between the YM and ExII I like the ExII better, but if you're going with a GMT, you don't really need another with the EXII. If your EXII is also a black dial, might be a little more repetitive as well. In the end though, I'd probably just sell the one that gets less wrist time. |

For me it would definitely be sell the YM as it doesn't really tickle my fancy, however, I love the Exp II so I would want to keep that. It would be an easy decision for me.
In saying that my fiancé loves the YM so it probably wouldn't be as easy as I make out. I have a feeling I wouldn't have a YM to sell

Option #1 definitely.

Adding the BLNR would be ideal, but since that is not an option, then I would sell the Explorer II. Having two GMT's in one collection may seem redundant.
