When I bought my dj2 they told me to clean it with Windex. I just can't bring myself to spray the watch with Windex. Is Windex safe? And what does everyone else use to clean?

Don't know about Windex...I just use plain old soap and water...and it works great. All you need.

I prefer rain-x. It keeps debris and water from beading.

No joke, I used Windex on my Subs, GMTs, SD for years and it cleaned all of the gunk from the bracelet right out. Once a month, sprayed it on, moved the links around and then rinsed is under running water. Always came out perfect and took zero effort.

Now, I typically wear straps so haven't had to do it for awhile.

I spray windex in a bowl with warm water and let mine soak for 45 mins or so. The junk that comes out is remarkable.

Cleaning more often and not letting gunk build up in bracelets is much better for them. Its hard to get all the crud out when it builds up.

I would highly recommend WristClean watch spray by Veraet.

It is the best I have found. I use it on all of my Rolex time pieces. The company's owner Don is a luxury time piece lover as well. They invented it especially for water proof luxury time pieces. It completely takes off all oils and keeps my watches spotless with a once week cleaning.

+1 for Varaet. Just tried it on my Explorer after a trip to Thailand and it looks brand new!

Ultrasonic for the bracelet...twice a year. Even with regular veraet washing, here's the gunk that comes out with the ultrasonic bath:

I use car wash shampoo and soft toothbrush, it's safe and it beads the water off and gives the watch extra sparkle due to the wax it contains.
