Rolex 5513 - Everything look OK?
After recently getting this 1675 I am tempted to get another vintage piece and this 5513 has popped up locally to me, before going to view/buy would it be possible for some of the experts to cast an eye over it and see what you think.
Presume it is not a 1959, likely mid 60's do you think? All being well I will go to the shop tomorrow and buy it... Looks like I have caught the vintage bug Here is my 1675 with service dial, bezel and hands. |

I wish I could foretell the condition of the 5513 from your 1675 like from tea leaves but I think we need bit more information (photos) here to help you out. :)

Well it definitely isn't from 1959. 5513 was introduced in 62 I think? The dial is either replaced in somewhere in the 80's or I could guess that the watch is in fact from the 80's originally. The case is nice but unfortunately the hands don't match the dial. I would look for another example. I don't know whats going on with the bracelet...

I asked about this regarding the serial no. they replied that it is 1.3m which puts the case about 66 nowhere near 59, dial and hands replaced at the very least, obviousely not familiar with vintage Rolex, I would give it a wide berth.

Bracelet, if original, doesn't belong to watch but still has value and correct replacement is easy to find. Dial is probably replacement, but find out serial number to determine.

Walk away. WAY too many issues and inconstancies. The fact that the seller thinks it's from 1959 clearly shows his lack of knowledge. Is this really someone you want to deal with?

Thanks everyone. I think they are looking for around the £3200 mark so doesn't seem a bad buy but think I will pass on this one :)
This forum is a life saver. Really appreciate the info everyone. |

The early 5513 had matte dials, the fact that the dial is gloss with goals surround means either replacement from 80s or watch is around 1983 or after. Case would be older if that's correct serial, either way seller is either clueless or worse

The seller hasn't a clue what he is offering.
