Rolex Overhaul
My dad has nice looking GMT two tone that he got back in 2001. I want to give him a overhaul as a gift but I don't want to wait forever. Any places guys?

That's a nice gift! For safety I would send it to your nearest RSC. It will take a few weeks, but I'm sure your dad will appreciate the result.

Gotta agree with Hamilton!
I wonder if you could post "before and after service pics"?? As for places to have the GMT II serviced, here are the phone #'s of the official RSC's. You could opt for a non official RSC, as well. The one in San Francisco is renowed for very good customer service and excellent refurbishing work. Well, I'd say service would be a bit more than that. More like 400-500 US $.

There was a guy who showed his restoration of a Submariner that was modified to look like a 16613. Maybe he can do it quickly?

I would definite recommend a RSC. I had a pproblem with some moisture in my watch.
I took it to Leo Hamel's In San Diego. They had it back quickly, to the tune of $860.00. However, they never checked the watch for water "proofness". Two weeks later, I had asome moisture problem again. They said that I had cracked the crystal duribg one of the three days I wore the watch to my office in the hospital!!!! They informed me that these watches were very "delicate" and that I must have whacked it very hard against some paper. My fault all the way! NOT! RSC! PS Obviously, the crystal had been cracked in the first place, and that was how the original water problem developed! |
