Which Rolex for a 40 year old brother in law who is a lawyer?
Want to gift a Rolex to my brother in law who turns 40 early next month and it also happens to be his 10th wedding anniversary too a day after his birthday. He is a lawyer by profession. Would prefer giving a SS model as he is not the dress watch types. Any suggestions?

Is it for wearing with suits or sports clothes? That would make a difference IMO. My first choice would be a Sub if it is a sports watch.

A DJ or Sub are really timeless, safe choices. Although I believe it really depends on what type of person he is outside of the office. Is he active, sporty, casual or is he more of a dressier, professional individual?
Another great option in between the DJ and Sub would be a smooth bezel DJ2, stick dial on oyster bracelet. Very clean and versatile IMO. Good luck PS - I have a hard time wrapping my head around buying a Rolex for a sibling... let alone an inlaw (lol) but good for you! And him!! Geez |

With that being said, I'd probably day DJ or DJ2. Sounds like it would fit his personality more IMO and a great choice.

GMT is a great all around piece. I prefer the black vs the blue black.

You really can't go wrong with a Sub, GMT, Explorer II or DJ II they will fit all occasions.

If he works on a midsize or larger firm new Sub dates are probably a dime a dozen.
Birth year Sub, DJ II in interesting dial/metal combo or Blue-Black GMT would allow for a more cherished selection. |

I'm an attorney (not yet 40) and I wear a DJII fluted bezel. Love it! Works great with a suit but I wear it with anything, including shorts and a t-shirt.

I'm a lawyer and close to 40. I alternate between a DJ and. Sub date. Either would be a great choice and awesome gift.
