Icon5 Clasp replacement for YM

Hi again.

I called my AD yesterday inquiring about a YM in SS/plat.

He had one Z-series an a couple of earlier production series awailable. Having read in this forum that it is possible to replace the clasp with a Daytona clasp, I asked if he could replace the clasp with a GMTIIc clasp. He replied that that could not be done beacurse the bracelets are not comatible (!)

Is that really true or is it just a policy thing? I understand these things should be easier in Europe, so I was a little surprised. Any comments or ideas anyone?

Yacht Master Clasp

Here's a link that shows how:

I spoke to Rolex about it, & they said although it would classed as a cutomisation, they would still service any watch with this modification.

if you buy the clasp, you could do it yourself. It is a doable job. Of course you do need the tools.

Maybe it's possible, but the SS GMT IIc clasp is longer than the SS Daytona clasp.

Personally, I also like the Daytona clasp better. It's much simpler in construction (no spring loaded tip of the clasp) but still has the "Easy Link".

I'd put on the Daytona clasp if I were you. You know it can be done with the Daytona clasp, and it looks awesome!

Thanks for advise

I think I will put a Daytona clasp on instead of a GMT II c clasp. I agree they both look awsome and then I know it can be done. I guess I will do it myself the AD won't do it.
