Rolex Submariner Easy Link

Hi everyone-

I'm posting this topic for a friend of mine. He recently purchased a used P Serial Submariner and it was missing the easy link. Does anyone know why this piece would be missing? Would it be difficult to find a replacement easy link?

I've attached a photo of the bracelet:

Thanks!

On that model it isn't an EasyLink but a divers' extension. Unless he's a diver he won't need it. It doesn't function the same way that the EasyLink does.
