suspicious GMT 16713

This GMT seems to have the wrong dial (GMT Master instead of GMT Master II). The GMT hand doesn't show the hours in the corresponding 24 hour time, so it's not a GMT Master even though it has a GMT Master dial. The bracelet looks off, but I can't name why it seems off.

One quick further note. The jewelry stores says this a 16713 with an X serial number (circa 1991). They also say it was serviced by their own Rolex-trained staff.

I was mildly interested at first, but not anymore.

On a gmt the 24 hr hand should be facing either the 2 or 14 on the bezel, as it's not independent, no?

No probs! The advantage of the older model is that is has a quick set date, whereas the GMTII does not. So if you don't travel much, the older one is probably more practical.
