Pepsi vs IWC perpetual
Hi folks
Totally different animals but for the same money, what would be your choice? I know that one is sport the other dress.... so that out of the way what would you factor in, in order to make a decision? |

Actually it's installed correctly. The idea is that you are usually looking at your watch at an angle. From that perspective the date is centered. You are rarely checking the time/date straight on....

I'd have to go with the Pepsi as well. That being said, IMO, these are two drastically different watches both in form and function. Kind of like comparing a Rolls Royce to a Ferrari. The only reason I'm going with the Pepsi is because: a) this is a Rolex forum and b) my next new Rolex will probably be a GMT.
The IWC is an incredible looking timepiece though! |

I had that IWC years ago and it is truly a beautiful watch! So different and hard to compare. Sheer beauty and overall watch clearly the IWC. Ultimate casual sports watch clearly the GMT. Totally subjective and will depend on your need and use as well as current collection. You should post in Non Rolex section to get a more objective opinion unless you already made up your mind.

For that kind of money, you can take a loupe to the IWC to admire the level of quality fit and finish. .
The rolex you can just glance at it see a lack of quality control. Disappointing at that price point. That being said, IWC all day long. |

Pepsi all the way. Although some may find the WG too heavy, I love the weight. I picked up a IWC Portugieser automatic once at an AD and can't believe how light the watch is. Is about as light as my 36mm Datejust, but the watch is nearly twice the size.

IWC. One of the best looking perpetuals out there. I prefer the older pepsi.
The decision should be based on what you do and what you plan to wear the watch with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I love the GMT Master II but if you're going to spend that sort of money, I think it warrants a dress watch. Unless you already have an insane collection, the IWC better suits the price tag. I know this opinion is likely unpopular here, and while I love everything Rolex does, I think if you're going to spend 20k+ on a watch it should be a dressier piece.
Nothing wrong with a precious metal sport watch, but I'd need a more rounded collection before I invested in one. |

iwc! other than the metal, the level of finishing between a stainless rolex and a pm rolex is the same, which is unloupable :P

If you want a sports watch I would go Pepsi. If you want a dress watch (that size) I would look at the jlc duometer

I think it's one of those situations where you close your eyes and say, which one do I see myself wearing and how does it fit into my lifestyle?
For me, I dress very casually on a daily basis and really love the sport watches on bracelet, so the Rolex appeals to me. The IWC is such a gorgeous watch, though. What about you? |

Though, I would not buy that particular Rolex. I'd buy a stainless one and maybe some other, cleaner? dress watch. Though, the IWC is a masterpiece. It truly is. Stunningly beautiful. It's just that it does not fit my life style. |
