They're both winners, but the Sub gift is way more special, and I know you will cherish it for a long time, my friend.

I'm partial to the Sub-Date since I have one also and it was my first. That YM sure is beautiful though.

JJ, though both are great watches in their own rights
It would have to be the Sub Firstly, for the great gesture to you from Bubba Secondly, the Sub was the first Rolex that I ever bought and it will always remain special. Enjoy that watch JJ, like I know you will.

If I should choose only ONE watch of the two, I'd go for the SS Sub Date. Great watch for everyday use! But you have ultimate versatility with the pair you have now. Great looking combo!

I missed the comming of the sub soomewhere JJ, whats the story? I gather it was a gift. You are turly a good friend to someone to recieve that gift. This does not surprise me though as i have found you to be a true reprabate amongst tossers!
I think it takes a special man to carry off a yaght master. I tried on on at my AD's before choosing the GMT IIc, it was a hell of a watch, too much for me though, so i would go for the quiet understated pedigree of the sub. The working watch, the quiet refinement of hundreds of navy officers and divers choosing this watch to be thier choice. However, for you. It has to be the platty, its a shiney pristine beauty of a watch. This said though, a gift of a timeless classic like the sub, from a close friend.....do you really need to ask??? There is really no question.
