DD2 was a mistake !!!!

in my opinion Rolex thought process is the following:

DJ2 for a younger generation looks cool and flashy enough and they don't care (or know) how it looked in 1945

DD2 older customers who are refined and they thought this watch is garish and made them look like rappers (unless thy ARE rappers and in that case they loved it) hated it and they are the guys with the big bucks

conclusion: DJ2 will live forever and for god sake Rolex please make a Jubilee bracelet for the darn thing thank you

That's it in a nutshell.

It personally took me a while to work it out, just what it was that wasn't right.
Then the penny dropped.
Once I could quantify it, then it was easy to pass on it.

At the end of the day they lost me a little bit more after the fiasco of the Maxi Case Sub. Good for rappers.
Bad for anybody else with a sense of style and proportion

1) I own a "mistake" DD2
2) I'm not a rapper nor do I think it looks garish

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this!! I liked it 2 days ago and I still like now. Certainly not a 'mistake'!!!

Don't get me wrong, I like the DD40 too but it doesn't mean we should rubbish the DD2. That's just ridiculous!

And I like that the platinum on the new DD40 has the smooth bezel. Not at all a fan of the other bezel.

So Mike, when are you "upgrading"???😃

With Tudor making the Pelagos in blue maybe I can get a good deal on the "old" DD2 and get the "Kilyung Starter Kit" going??

Don't worry Mike, I also own this travesty of a watch as well and made the mistake of buying it too! Hahaha!!!

I was a rapper in the year 2025 so I guess I fit this stupid sterotype... Oh well...

These types of threads are hilarious.

I sure am jealous seeing pictures of peoples mistakes in this thread...I wish I was in a position to make such a 'mistake'

How on earth can you argue that the proportions of this beauty are anything but perfect. DD2 will live on as a desirable timepiece and the fact that they are discontinued only makes them that much more desirable
to the DD2
