Birthday watch: Sub TT LB sunbrust vs YM blue Pt vs classic Patek?
Hi folks.
I am thinking of selling one watch to finance a birthday watch this year or next year. I already have some steel Rolex watches. I just love Rolex. (Yes, I have had AP, IWC, Omega etc. I always come back to Rolex. They are just reliable, valuable, functional and super nice.....) Which Rolex do you like best? ROLEX SUB 16613LB sunburst and ROLEX YM 116622 Platinum blue sunburst. However, I have also considered a classic gold Patek 5196/5296. Which one do you want to choose?

TT sub or YM can't loose, the Patek if you are looking for a dress watch

I am going through something similar. Originally I wanted a TT sub for my birthday this year... but now am looking for a full gold piece. TT Sub is hard to beat, just love that gold and blue combo. good luck with your selection.

These choices are kind of all over the place..... If Rolex, TT Sub (not a fan of the YM's Pt bezel with blue dial) and if PP, the WG 5196. Pre-Happy Birthday.

I'm on a Patek kick at the moment so that's my vote.

I'd go YM. The Pateks are a totally different style. Now a nautilus would be a different story...

I would tend to agree with Neil. I too have heard the blue dial is nice.

Very different choice between the PP and the Rolex...
Have you tried on any of these If it's a dress watch you want, there's none better than Patek |

Have tried most of those PP + 5127. Have SS Sub and have had the old 16622. 116622 is the one I have not tried yet. It should be and feel better than the old one. Yes, they are different. The style is flexible. For me, similar price watches and design I like are more important than apple-to-apple-comparison in such choice.

Sub TT LB with sunburst dial. I had the YM, and flipped it pretty quick. I think if I was going the YM route, I would go with the classic platinum dial. Hmm....

I'd go classic Patek. I really like the 2 on the far right of your picture.

Between the Rolex models, it's the sub tt lb sunburst.
So that leaves the tt sub vs. the calatrava. That's tough, but they are totally different watches which should make it easier to decide on. |

I love the Sub, not a fan of the YM. PP while great watches aren't my thing.

Ym blue is one of my most comfortable watch. The case shape look like a DJ case make it sport watch in dressier manner. The red second hand, the red ym writing and the raised numeral bezel make it look more special than her sisters. Although i love sub looks, sub case is squarish and have a pointy lugs. in term of comfortable, i pick my Ym. You should definitely give it a try.

Patek if I was wearing it to the office. The YM or TT if it was for a casual environment. All are solid pieces:)

Thanks all.
I see a lot of guys here like the 116613LB. I understand why. It is nice. Any more votes for PP? 116622 is nice, but it may be harder to sell if I have to later to finance an other nice piece. Hmmm.... Since many of you like sunburst dial. Should I also consider 116610LV HULK in stead of bluey sun burst???? Green sunburst vs blue sunburst..:)
