Input please on 1974 GMT
Please let me know your thoughts about this 1970's GMT Root Beer. The watch is in Europe without papers but the seller will accept pay pal. Price seems fair. Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum!
Not many pics to go by but looks like a nice Root Beer. As with any purchase you have to consider seller, price, condition, and service history. |

Besides what timetogo pointed out, you need to consider the risks of having a watched shipped here from a foreign country. Besides loss, or theft, there is the issue with customs / Rolex trademarks which has been the topic of many discussions here in the past.

Thanks. To what extent is it helpful that I would make payment through PayPal? I am assuming it is only helpful in the case of fraud.

Paypal gift offer zero protection,
I would still stick to something in the U.S. if customs confiscates it paypal will do nothing as it is against their TOS to purchase "illegal" goods, so basically paypal protection would be worthless even if you chose the 'payment' method which normally offers protection, in your case it would not (IN MY opinion) you can ask paypal to confirm, but I am probably right, if they would even know how customs deals with Rolex, probably not and they might just tell you to go for it cause they want your 3%, but rest assured when it comes time to pay out they will have someone checking into it. illegal goods is a bit harsh, but as far as customs is concerned that is how they will view it.
