Learn Dutch in 10 easy lessons
Ever wondered what those friendly people in The Netherlands are saying in their melodious and beautiful language? Ever wanted to greet one of those great Dutchmen in his own language, e.g. a watch forum, say the one called TRF? Ever wanted to express true feelings of friendship in Dutch?
This is an answer to all those questions and more: How to learn Dutch in 10 easy lessons. For lesson number one we will teach you 6 simple phrases that will help you along. For the correct pronunciation use the CD that came with these lessons. Good morning - Wat ben je toch een geweldige kerel. Good night - Je bent echt een aanwinst voor dit forum. What watch do you have? - Ben je niet geweldig? What time is it? - Wat zou dit forum zijn zonder jou? How are you? – Je bent echt goed hè? Tell me more about it - En nog knap ook. Now the next step is to use these phrases in, for instance, a post on a forum. Say the one called TRF. Good luck!

Hey tosser, shouldn't you learn how to speak and read English FIRST, before you go trying to teach Nederspek to a sophisticated, English-speaking audience?

I'm really confused.
Good morning = two words, 11 letters Wat ben je toch een geweldige kerel = 7 words, 40 letters, Yup looks like an easy language to learn.

And it looks like "geweldig" can be used just about anywhere in a sentence.

Was helping my daughter with grade 7 French.
So, since Fireman is now Fireperson etc, I wonder what the French should be doing with the "La and Le" crap. Is it still politically correct to have male & female words??

My scheme worked beautiful. The seeds have been sown. In about 1 year I’ll have you talking Dutch and walking about in clogs, eating cheese. Some of you even tried to answer me in Dutch, a result beyond my wildest dreams! Resistance is futile!
Added bonus: pot, trips to the Red Light district and watching footy matches all dressed in orange and banging on large drums. And beer swilling at the legal age of 16.

I think you got JJ's attention with the Red light district.
He's at work right now, ears perked right up even without a computer in sight. BTW, curiosity question. Around here, some some unkown reason, a popular shoe is something known as "Holey Shoes". They are rubber clogs with holes along the sole line. I do not own a pair, no one in my household owns a pair, but Dutch WannaBe's are wearing them everywhere. They come in bright colours too. Is this a local phenom?? Too much west coast life style?? Or is Fran succeeding in his plan to rule the world???
