Does anyone match their Rolex to their clothing/accessories?
As an LV owner who wears suits everyday for work, I struggle to wear my LV unless I have some shade of green in my tie. I don't worry at all with casual clothing. I only own one Rolex and it gets limited time due to this issue. I love the watch as it is beautiful and was a very thoughtful and gracious gift from my wife as a 10 year anniversary gift. I will never flip or sale it. It's a keeper for lifetime. However, I'm shopping for an additional Rolex to wear more with business dress. Just curious if anyone else battles this issue as owners of a Rolex with color.

I know, I know. I would have chosen a black sub, but it was given to me as a gift. To be fair, if I had the black sub I would definitely be obsessing about wanting green as it is my favorite color. I wish I could be one of the guys who say they don't care and wear it with everything. I just can't.

As to the OP, I totally understand wanting to match your watch with your other gear / accessories. However, I wouldn't go crazy over it. The only color that I can see you maybe clashing with is red/pink? I'd just wear your Rolex, it works with most colors and it's a gorgeous watch |

I have an LVc and have no problem matching it with my clothes.
You do know green goes with ALOT of colors besides shades of green?

I guess it comes down to personal taste, but, I wear by LVc with anything (suit and tie or casual). And it always looks great.

Just wear it. If you're wearing suits it probably stays under the cuff for most of the day anyway.
Sometimes you look better when you don't look like you're trying so hard to look good. |

I have always thought it's silly to to match watch with wardrobe, in particular the LV. In fact I think the opposite is true. Let the watch stand out by itself. Having a LV with a matching green belt or tie just makes it look like you are trying too hard.

I don't ever consider matching my watch with my clothing...then again, I don't have any watches that aren't black and steel.

Yes, sure. Always fun. I wear my 1655 with orange socks, have a gold wedding ring for gold watches and a platinum ring for stainless or white gold watches... the crazy shit we do... ha

Matchy matchy is not in fashion. When it comes to precious metals, it is customary to match gold with gold, etc. and even that is ok to mismatch at times. But for colors, I laugh when I can tell the person purposely matched.

I try to colour match if possible and if the watches are handy. Ie not in the safe. Black, red, blue, green, silver, rose gold.....
But mostly I match for the purpose. GMT if travelling across more than two time zones, divers for snorkelling. |

Not to hijack the thread, but where did you get these cufflinks at?
As far the the OPs question, I never worry about it. Sometimes I feel like it looks better if my watches clash and draw attention. Then again I'm the guy that wears some pretty outrageous socks when I am dressed up. When it comes to style, to each is own. Also, considering I see so many g-shocks and other digital watches on guys in suits, who cares if your wearing a LV with a color that doesn't complement green. The LV (or any Rolex) is in it's own league and doesn't need to complement anything else or have anything else complement it. Wear it with pride. |
