I haven't seen a lady wear a 36mm datejust / daydate before but I've seen some wearing the 31mm datejust... so I would say no.

I tried to talk my wife into getting a 31mm datejust but she says it looks too big on her and wants to stick with her 26mm oyster. But I think it looks amazing.

The case size may not be the issue. Make sure she can read the dial on the 26MM, i don't have the best eyesight in the world and the 26mm is unreadable for me.

Sure, alot of women wear 36mm and even 40mm watches. My wife has taken over my Daytona. However, I still think 36mm can work fine for men as long as you don't have a huge wrist. Sometimes it's a nice relief from all the trendy oversized watches. I think they look just fine on the wrist. The biggest hurdle is in the mind of the wearer if they are used to wearing 40mm watches.

Yes and not just 36mm but also 40mm.. More and more women are wearing Daytona's, ,there is no mens watches anymore in the Rolex world.

Large watches have been trendy, but that's starting to reverse. I still see 36mm as being a sophisticated man's watch, but any non-diver in the 34mm-39mm range works for me as a man's watch. That being said, men and women can feel free to wear whatever they wish. My wife prefers the smaller, but not smallest, 29mm-31mm range.

Unisex. My wife has the salmon dial (with aftermarket diamond bezel) I would have no problem borrowing it sans diamond bezel.

I think we're going to see this last decade of overly large, bulky, flashy Rolex designs as a low point in design for the brand. SubC, DSSD, DJII, etc. are all pretty bad, but it already seems to be turning around a bit. A 36mm DJ still looks great on a man.

Many thousands of happy owners would disagree with you. Some may even also own models that you approve of.

Oddly enough, the chunkiness and flashiness of the 8500 series Omegas is also a pretty common complaint on Omega forums. We'll see where the trends go, I guess. |

Rolex offering many ladies in 36mm. Looks like 34-36 the new ladies sizes. 36mm looks way to small on a 7 inch mans wrist.

No. Size doesn't make the watch.

Heidi Klum wears a Seadweller and I've seen women wear even larger watches (i.e. SS Breitling Navigator) that work well. Men tend to need watches that fit their wrist proportionally within reason.
