Typical number of links in an 18038 President bracelet

Gang,

I have opportunity to purchase an early 80's 18038 in Yellow Gold in very good shape. It's unpolished with lots of gold and typical stretch. The interesting thing is that it appears to have extra links I think. It appears to have 25 links I can pick this up for 8K. My question is this: How many links did the 18038 come with new? The extra links could make a good deal into an excellent deal. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
