My new Grail.

A Grail = the unachiavable.

My Grail is to enjoy what I've got.

I recognize that my shot is slim and none.

But when this epiphany manifested I felt a bit of peace.

My goal. No more watches. My collection:

Rolex Explorer 2, polar.
Omega AT Day date black
Vacheron Constantine Overseas blue

This is enough. Time to sit back a try to just enjoy. Time to let go of the chase.

Let me get this straight Seth. Are you admitting that being happy with what you have is unachievable? I hope not, but know the feeling.

That's the fear. But the goal too. Both at the same time. The evolution of ... Who knows

I hope you achieve your goal Seth. I know it isn't easy...especially with so many trusted sellers a phone call away

I can relate to your idea of being happy with what you have. Since I got my BLNR I haven't looked at the FS Section in two months

Yes......for now. I'm almost in the same boat. The only thing really appealing to me now is something in platinum, but my wallet can't handle the hit at this time. Buying a Daytona, GMT, and Smurf for my 40th birthday completely drained my toy fund. Good luck in your pursuit, but I have a feeling it won't last

Whether you're actively hunting for a new watch or not, it's nice to be able to stop and enjoy your current collection.

Savour the moment without worrying about how long it may last.

For me it's more of a wants and means. By that I mean that as long as I have the means to get something I want, even if I need to make some room by selling /trading something I have, I seem to always make the deal. Also, for me and perhaps others, it's very difficult to want something I have. I don't need to want it because I have it. Not to say that I don't want what I have, it's just I always seem to want what I don't have more sometimes. If you are finally at peace, I applaud you. Well done. For the rest of us, hopefully we can find that same peace.

Figured I need to address this.

It is hard to say. The Daytona is such a nice watch. One of my favorite Rolex's for sure. And I must admit it is more comfortable. The ez link makes a huge difference and it is far lighter. I also like the size of the daytona.

However, the VC is a much nicer watch. I can't say exactly how. I am not refined enough to really know the details. But the workmanship and every last detail is just stunning. From the clasp to the dial, to the way the date is adjusted. The bracelet itself is a work of art. The watch is built of such a high quality that it is somewhat inspiring.

Ultimately, I made the right decisions. But I also realize that there really is no wrong decision when it comes to the two. They are both fantastic.

Tell me about it man! I had a watch dealer tell me exactly that: "enjoy what you got"....., still trying man. I really do enjoy my watches but always want more, different, better.... Weird feeling. Be well.

Good on you Seth.

I am also trying very hard to not want another Rolex. I def don't need another one, but I really miss the 42mm Polar EXP2 I flipped last year. I guess after I get one again I will very likely succeed in stepping away from the FS section (fingers crossed). Sigh.....

Good luck OP!

My friend...I appreciate the sentiment behind what you are saying, but at least wait until you buy your DD40 before making such a firm proclamation:)
