I would only do it if you are 100% certain. You are going to lose a lot on resale for an IWC.

I would not do it. The DSSD is a beautiful watch and stands on it's own merits for size, look and value. Nothing against the IWC but it is not in the same class as the DSSD in my opinion. Don't even think about trade value should it not work out. Contact a trusted seller and see what you could get on a trade or sell. Keep what you have. You got it right.

I don't like the DSSD that much but I would still keep it. That IWC does nothing for me.

No way. Not a good trade, IMO. I've also heard less than favorable reviews on the rubber coating that surrounds the old Galapagos. They may have resolved those issues in the newer version.

I've tried on the IWC and although I really liked it, and realistically for me it was a better physical fit than the DSSD, it felt like a g shock in comparison. That's not really to put it down but more to compliment the build of the Rolex. Keep us updated!

You presumably mean trade the DSSD for the IWC and get some cash back, right ?
The IWC is going to get smashed on depreciation but it is a lovely watch - I've looked at it myself a number of times but got put off by stories of the rubber coating coming off (probably unfair as by all accounts only a few watches had that issue). On balance I'd say I wouldn't do it unless you loved the IWC on trying it on and got a phenomenal price on the IWC. You're not going to get a competitive price from Blowers; they are amongst the most expensive of the UK internet retailers. That said, I have bought from them twice and been perfectly happy (other than knowing I didn't get a bargain). |

Oh, I see that the new style ones are actually mid £6k ish, so you probably are looking at a straight swap at best. I wouldn't do it but would wait for the new ones to come down to the £3-4k ish level of the old ones (which they will).
