The most unrecognized Rolex

This is the Rolex watch that you either love or hate.

It sits tall on your wrists

It has that extra hole that people wonder about

It does not have that distinguishable cyclops that can be spotted from a mile

Caseback has an engraving... what's up with that! It so un-Rolex like! Must be a fake.

The most unrecognizable Rolex in the world. Either you love or you hate it! I it!!

Imho, the SD is the coolest Rolex sport's watch EVER produced.

I am sad the SD is no more made, but glad I got one!

I should have titled it as "Either you hate it or love it". I wasn't thinking straight this afternoon.

I wouldn't say its the most unrecognized Rolex at all. You can argue that it looks similar to the 14060--especially to non WIS guys--and the 14060 is one of the most recognized Rolexes produced.

I would say the Milgauss or Air King is more unrecognizable.

That's a beauty of a watch, Vernon.....but how can you dub it as "most unrecognised"?

IMHO, the most "unrecognized" models are probably the Explorer 1, Air-King, and a couple of the Cellini models. Not that its a bad thing at all, I like subtleness and stealth in a watch.

Exactly - only one person has noticed I was wearing a Rolex AK - and he was a wannabe watch collector.

have one, and like it for each of those reasons.

sucks to have to clean around that cyclops twice a day. SD much cleaner, thank you, and sits high, like a tank, very paneresque lol

You have to clean the cyclops regularly? Is this true and why?

Personally, I hate the fact that I have to keep mine soaking in a glass of water every night.

Otherwise, it starts whining, "I can't breathe. I can't breathe." etc.

Nothing worse than a whiny watch.

Personally, I think the Oyster Quartz is the least recognised of Rolex watches.

I came close but being a technical person and a bit fidgity, I would be pushing whatever I had my hands on into that gas port for sure. A toothpick, paperclip, my finger during boring [many] meetings, a pen cap...whatever I could. What DOES happen if you poke something into that thing? I JUST GOTTA KNOW....THROW ME A BONE HERE!!!!! DOES IT MAKE A PSSSST SOUND? ANYTHING??? Oh and for sure I would be pressing it underwater [in the local pool] because I just would have to release some helium or see bubbles come out. Oh I am so glad I never got that one.

Yes I must stay away from things like that. And don't get me started on the Daytona! HELP MEEEEEE!!!!

alas some humor.

There was a time, before news of its discontinuance, that the SD received more derogatory comments than flattery. "It's too heavy", "Who needs a watch that can go so deep" etc etc . Ask your AD.
I have been wearing mine for the last eight years and it has always been my choice watch over my other Rolexes.

I have no need for a diving watch, yet I'm drawn to the SD.
