It's a Yankee Doodly Dandy, Yeah Baby!!!

Received by post, yesterday. It may have a British name but for me it's become my Yankee Doodle Dandy. Here's the photo from the seller, and here's the watch after my visit to the AD to have it sized. Some says they're too large, some say it sits too low, I say it's just right.

It was a really nice trip to the AD (Long's in Peabody, MA). Spent some time chatting with the Rolex sales guy who is quite a Rolex buff and has been there for 30 years. He had some interesting stories to tell including some history on the piece and his meeting of the Tudor President (he didn't know who it was when he het him just prior to the reintro of Tudor into the US market and had given him a bit of history on the BB when it was first used as a tool watch prior to its reintroduction.) Also discussed the new warranty for Rolex and Cellini but not for Tudor as well as the origins of the Cellini name.

It turns out that he has stock in the company I work for and was tickled to get an offer to tour our facility any time I was available. Had a great time discussing watches (most recent models and particularly the Skydweller and the BLRO). At any rate I received a copy of the most recent Rolex magazine and almost lost the links from the links to the two watches I was having adjusted. Over all it was a really great visit considering I didn't buy the watch there and was just paying to have it and another sized. I also decided to have them let their service guy do a service on my 14060. Was surprised to hear that as an authorized service person the watch will receive the full Rolex service warranty and card.

Happy Independence Day weekend everyone!!!

Sellers photo...

and my photo, fitted and on the wrist with the Rolex magazine in the background.

Congrats! The black bay is a great watch at a steal of a price! It especially shines on the fabric strap...try it out!

Congrats, Lee! A great addition to your collection! You ought to take some pictures in Lexington and Concord or Bunker Hill with your Tudor "Red Coat."

BTW, back in the '70s, there used to be a place in Peabody called the Golden Bannana.... I've been told, anyway!

Thanks again!!! True that is, given that Henry VIII was in power when America was discovered. The Tudors remained as the monarchy up until the beginning of the 17th century.

I'm only a few miles from Lexington now. I drive by the Golden Banana on my commute. There is a Townie Tune sung to the tune Copa Cabana about the Golden Banana, a place you can't take your Nana. It's legendary.
