Rolex Submariner 16610 model info request?

Please could you tell me the difference between the F, D, Z and M models. I know that M is the current model with engraved chapter ring. Am I correct that some early M's may not have the engraving? My research shows that D and Z are the same? Then how is a F different from the D and Z? Was the F the first model without lug holes? Any feedback much appreciated!

I have also seen one Z-series model with the rehaut branding, and have heard of M-series without it. Other than that, F, D, Z, and M serial number watches are the same. All 16610 Submariners feature the same legendary 3135 movement, the 14060M uses the 3130 simply because there is no date feature. I have forgotten when the lug holes were discontinued, and I'm sure someone else will find it before I do. The 14060M still has lug holes. There was a bracelet variation when solid end links were put into service, and in 1998 the tritium lume was replaced industry wide by the current Superluminova. Since the 16610 replaced the 16800 and 168000 Submariners there have been almost no other variations.

Welcome to TRF!

Taken from the FAQ's:

"2002 end of Y series early 2003. Non lugs holes started to make there appearence on most models."

It's my understanding that all M-serial SS Sub Dates would have the Rolex Branded Rehaut ("RBR").

Told ya snoride! Bo is definitely one of our foremost exprets.

As to the RBR, I will defer to him. I have checked around and can find no one who will claim to have seen this on an M series watch for themselves. Looks like I spoke to soon, sorry.
