So very worried here.

I have spent last few days swimming, running etc - all physical stuff you do when on vacation. the watch (a 114060 submariner) is now running fast. like 1min per day fast. before it was about 2s per day fast for 3 months straight. watch has warranty. i dont have an AD in my home country, only in neighbour country which is a 2 hour boat ride away. i really dont want to go that far for watch service but probably will need to.

any short term advice? watch works fine but fast. very upset. i mean i was swimming - isnt what this watch was supposedly for? did i knock a rotor into case or hairspring got tangled? how much would a regulation run me?

Well...generally a lot of physical activity will make the watch run fast, although I wouldn't think 1 min/day fast.

I believe I would give it a little time after the vacation and physical activity has ended and se if it returns to its normal timekeeping. If not, might be time to go see the watch doctor.

Thats quite bit out of spec but are taking your start point reading before your vacation and physical stuff or is your start reading after? also how long did you base your reading on 24hr/48hrs?

Yup.

1 day. I mean now i did a test of like 15 min - 3 sec ahead. Its that bad.

Happened couple of days ago, reckon after i was done jumping into water from the yacht, but it was may be 3m high at most, and i went legs first as i recall. Wonder if that had anything to so with it...:(

I once experienced that kind of time gain with my Sub on a golf trip a few years ago after having it in the pocket of my golf bag with a putter cover that had magnetic flaps. I'm not the expert that some members here are but I do know that magnetization can cause immediate and rapid time gain. With my watch, after a while, it went back to normal.

When people ask these questions in threads like this, they are not clueless morons. They ask in order to see if someone experienced something similar, what were the repairs like, should one just wear it and wait and see, or may be pull the crown out as when one shatters the crystal and so on. That kind of feedback, for a piece of mind perhaps before the visit comes. May be an advice along the lines of "don't go to just any watch shop, as you might lose warranty" or whatever...

Guess that's all im looking for at the moment. Well aware there is an issue, i mean the watch is few min a day too fast.

I asked you what your timing methodology was, you replied and my reply was meant to be interpreted as you have a issue that only RSC can resolve - although it does solve your issue not sure what I say is any different to what others have said so far. Wish you good luck

You may have magnetised your watch, which is an easy fix.

It has gained now 3 sec over half a day. I have no idea what is going on. Seems to be heading back to spec-land? Is it really going away, this magnetization or? Will keep monitoring for now. So strange!

Man, take the stress level down a notch. Take it to your AD, and let them address it under warranty. Its mechanical, things happen.

Ok, update... 1 day passed, 1 timezone changed... 2 seconds ahead, back to COSC spec with vengeance. This is utterly bizarre but Ill take it. 🙈
