New Member First Rolex experience Explorer 2

Gentlemen-
I apologize for a long first post.

Great site...have been reading for a while before joining. You have been very helpful in many ways, so first of all THANK YOU

So after a solid year of soul searching Last week I purchased my first Rolex: Explorer 2 noir.

I want to mention my heart was in a Daytona for many years, preferably a 2 tone. I didn't think I was ready to part with that much cash yet.

Well, if I am being honest, my purchase has been anti climactic so far. It does not move me the way I thought it would, and honestly at this point ($8600 with tax) I should have just gone all in at $15k + for what I really wanted.
So, I called my AD in New Jersey after only wearing the watch 2 times and for only owning it for 5 days. I guess my research did not prepare me for the NO RETURNS/EXCHANGES policy. I was disappointed to say the least, mostly mad at myself for not knowing this policy before purchasing the Explorer.

I can either suck it up and wear it, or try and sell it and put that towards a Daytona.

I am not sure if any of you had similar experience first time?
Well thanks for listening and at the end of the day I still do own my 1st Rolex
Fred

Congrats on your first Rolex, I say give it a month of ownership and see if the Explorer "grows on you"...
It is a great watch to own.

Thank you..I will do that since even if I sold it today I would lose $1000 anyway. So I might as well wear it and take the same hit after wearing it. I just wish I would have gone bIG the first time.
Thank you for your advice !

Sell or trade it and buy what you really want.

Contact a Trusted Seller on this forum via PM (like DavidSW or OCROLEXGUY) and tell them you want to trade. They will give you a really good price. But I would stop wearing it if you plan on trading it towards a Daytona.

Wow I did not think someone would be willing to trade. Obviously I would put cash on top. Interesting ...that gives me hope!

Welcome, as stated contact a trusted seller and see if they can source you a TT daytona and flip it

Welcome to the forum. As has already been said, contact a trusted seller and ask if they will do a trade. The most important thing is that you are happy so if not, move the ExpII on and get something that you love, notably the TT Daytona that you have lusted after

Hey...no biggie, as Alex and John said. Totally agree. That's a great watch and will flip easily to what you want.

My only suggestion is to give it some time to make sure you really know what you want. Sure the Daytona is it now...but will it be later? Anyway, welcome and congrats!

Thank you all for the warm welcome and good advice. I do truly want the two tone daytona but will try the Explorer for a while but sparingly at that.
