My first Daytona - Too excited!

Just picked up my new baby, a white SS 116520 Daytona. Couldn't wait to take some proper pics with a better camera but regardless here it is, my first but certainly not the last Daytona.

Congrats on this stunning beauty!

It looks like it's a "Skinny Hands"?

Must be an early F-series or before that.

Click here for an article about "Skinny" versus "Fat" hands Daytonas.

Also, the box is the old-style from before 2005.

Click here for an article on boxes.

Great watch and you have a reason to be very excited.

Bo, I thought the skinny hands should look like the below picture.

Thanks everyone for your compliments and very warm welcome! It's great to be in a environment where people are positive and friendly.

I've been hunting for a Daytona for the last 3 months. Didn't want to get ripped off on Ebay or pay fat retail from local dealers so when I put the request out between friends I knew, this one came up.
I'm new to owning and understanding Daytonas and (thanks BO for the links!) the watch is a late F series, 116520 with "fat hands". The watch is used and was serviced less than 2 years ago (when should the next service be with only weekend wear and with daily wear?). I have the original receipt from purchase which wasn't from an AD but a reputable watch dealer in LA, as well as the original (that's an original box right?) box and papers. Like you guys all said, it's indeed a gorgeous watch. For now, I keep it in the box opened, by my desk so I can catch a glimpse every couple minutes. Once that's died down a little, I'll start wearing it and look into the NEXT purchase. Owning watches is like taking drugs.

Thanks for the update!

About the box, as stated in the article about boxes:

"It's hard to say when exactly Rolex instituted this change - some say it was in January, while others say it was mid-way through the F series production"

So if your Daytona is a late F-series, maybe it should have come in the new box. However, if I were you, I would consider myself very lucky to have the old box. It is much nicer, imho, and would also become a collectable item on its own in some years.

Thanks to JJ for putting this into perspective for me.

"Holy Grail's" don't happen too often in our lives, if ever.

A good night's sleep comes with this type of acquisition.

Congratulations and Sweet Dreams.
