Rolex or other high end "Clocks" in Cars

I work for a Lexus dealership and the General Manager of a BMW dealership came in today with his Rolls Royce Ghost. I was looking inside at all the high end luxurious materials that were used in this beautiful automobile and I wondered why don't we see high end luxury cars with clocks that say Audemars Piquet, Rolex, or Patek? I remember seeing a very old Cadillac that had a Cartier clock inside it but I'm not sure if it was factory or aftermarket.

I only just looked up who made it but the famous Maserati clock in my old machine was apparently made by JLC which probably explains why if it is stolen is thousands to replace.

Sadly dont have a good picture front on, but you can see it in the dash. I do believe Breitling do the clocks for Bentley hence the watch series to match to it.

Personally I wouldn't pay a premium for say a Rolex clock on the dash in my car since I'm not getting a mechanical movement but more or less an analog representation of a computer/battery operated clock. What's the point? And that is probably the reason we don't see more of it.

As for Bentley, I wonder who is paying who for the Breitling clock to be in that car?

If the first part is true then what is the point of the stand alone sentence? I agree it is probably product placement bragging rights however between this and Bond placement Rolex is out to lunch so to speak.

I want quartz in a car, and with the increasing use of touch screens, they are going to be digital or digital displays of an analog clock. Much more rugged than a mechanical.

To some of the earlier questions I do remember that the Maserati clock could pop out and from memory it is quartz, I think I had to change the battery once. Picture below not mine, just pulled it off the web.

That's because your car, like mine, does not have an analog clock.

Breitling is in Bentley. Cadillac did use Bvlgari for awhile. Lincoln in the 80's made a Cartier edition TownCar.

They can put mechanical clocks in cars. The clocks in cars pre quartz were all mechanical. They use an electric motor to wind them.

Those cartiers sure are purdy....... probably like the cars of the era they were in, they don't look out of place.

Always been a fan of " on the dash" especially Heuer's. Milton had a couple not long ago that just were amazing. Wish I had spendable cash before they sold.

With Richard Mille it would be the other way round - you get a car with the watch as a sweetener

If there is mechanical watch in your car, I wonder how the servicing of the clock would happen. Would the owner send it to the entire car to the watch maker? lol

From my knowledge I don't think there's a car that's being sold out there currently with a mechanical clock
