Damn you Jumbo; Why must you wear so large!!

Hands down one of my favourite designs ever!
The blue dial on this specific model, with the legendary AP bracelet, the legendary movement, this watch is the perfect all rounder for me, but I just simply can't stand the way it wears on my wrist.

Subtle, but still a nice presence due to the bracelet and case design.

The last picture is the only one wear it looks acceptable; I think it is the angle on the pic honestly.
The rest show what I mean about the stiff lugs, preventing the watch from resting on my puny wrists!!

Hard to tell from the photos, but honestly if it doesn't feel comfortable I would not buy.

One more from a different angle.
As much as I really want to add this, I simply can't get used to the large lugs. The gap is too much for me to ignore.
Another shot from a distance vs how my 5711 wears.
Maybe a 38MM RO in 2016? Or perhaps a more flexible bracelet? One can only hope.

Had the same issue and my solution was also the 5711. The lugs just did not fit my wrist. It is unfortunate we can't pull it off but it's still a great piece

Only you can make that decision. By the way it looks fine to me in photos--but go with your gut.

It looks maybe more like the shape of your wrist than the size of the lugs. I personally think it looks fine, especially from top view. If it's uncomfortable I wouldn't purchase.

It does looks a bit too big to be honest... maybe the 15370 or PP5711 is a better proposition

I was going to say the 5711 would be the perfect solution...you've already got that handled...it's all good: cheers:

The design of the Royal Oak case, how the lugs angle from the case, and how stiff the bracelet is all make the Royal Oaks both iconic and a curse for those of us with small wrists. Fortunately for my wallet, I can really only pull off a 39mm ROC with my 6.5" wrist. Otherwise I'd be after an Offshore or two. I believe your only option for a 37mm RO would be a 15450 in white which may not be the color you want. The PP looks to be a great alternative and both pictures really look fine to me, but ionly your opinion matters. We have all had a watch or two that we have planned on buying until we tried it on. Disappointing, but you have to move on when it doesn't sing to you.

I have 6.5 wrist. I feel it works and plenty of amazing watches I've lusted after don't fit me either.

Yeah size of wrist (OP mentioned 6.25") and shape of the wrist really matters, especially for an AP bracelet which doesn't conform to the wrist as well as other brands.

With the 5711, you don't need the RO.

I think it looks fine but if it bothers you it's for the best if you don't get it.

I think the Jumbo looks better than the Naut... At least in these pix.

I think it looks great. The problem you are describing looks like the watch is sitting on the bump from your wrist joint. If the 15202 was worn a little further back on your wrist, could that possibly solve the problem?

Thank you all for the responses.
Have been trying to tell myself for a while that it works, but I am afraid if I pull the trigger, it will only look bigger, and I will end up selling it anyway.
Love it otherwise though!

Ah I have tried. My wrists are just really small, I have to re-measure as I think it may be slightly smaller than 6.25" as well. Or maybe the shape just doesn't help - not sure.
The 5711 seems to work extremely well though.
A Rolex sport model works when it's snug. Long as the lugs rest, I have no problem.
Must gain some weight.. :D

Thanks again all!

Might be my mind playing tricks on me, but I think the 15300 for example wears as big as a ROO. Might be the different use of materials and the rubber bracelet that "breaks" up the largeness of the ROO line.

I would echo others and say to try the 15450.

Also, maybe look for a 15300. I do have to say that the cases angle differently on the lugs. I found the 15400 to wrap perfectly around my wrist; I wasn't a fan of how the Jumbo angled on my wrist.

I agree it looks big, but I think it's more a shape problem than size, some members with 6.5 wear 44 ROO's, I have 6.9 and wear the diver, would love to get one day the RG 44 but really don't think I can pull it off, the diver sits and looks perfect, tried some 44's and found them to be really big on me, in any case in SS I prefer the 5711, in RG I prefer the Jumbo, so for me you have the best of the 2, for me 5711/5712 and 15202 if in the same metal are a little too redundant, except if you have a big collection...…
